A Message from BSUF Founder Annette Mbedha
“I am so grateful for Children of Uganda (UK) standing by us during these difficult times. In the past 18 months our BSUF Education has been interrupted by a number of lockdowns and work could not continue on the building of our health clinic at Butansi. COVID 19 has made life very difficult for us. However, I am pleased to provide some positive news about some of our older students. Now things are moving again, with schools due to reopen again shortly. Work has already started on our Clinic and we are hoping to get it completed by the end of the year. And I wish to thank my assistant, Rebecca, for all her help this year. God bless you all for your ongoing support.”
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the new ‘Signum Foundation Scholarship’ to support some of our older students
This Scholarship, with our special long-time sponsor in Poland, will now support and help many of our older students in tertiary education. As well as in the medical field, students will be studying technical courses, business studies, fashion & design. Here are a few of them.

Cosmas Kibikiyo is given a new mobile phone & laptop to help him with his studies to be a doctor at Makerere University.
We are pleased that more of our students will be starting their courses this term. They will be able to earn a good living and will make valuable contributions to the health & wellbeing of their local villages and towns in the future.
BSUF student Babirye Asanat writes us a letter
“I would like to thank the sponsors of the BSUF Educational Programme for supporting my studies and dreams. I joined in 2015 in primary school and I am now in high school. On a sad note, in 2020 I was not able to finish the year – because of the COVID pandemic – which caused a lockdown of the whole country.
Again in 2021 we have had another lockdown. I am still hopeful that I can attain my big dream of becoming a doctor and, in the future, I will try as much as I can to support the Organization and help as many children as I can”.

BSUF Butansi Medical Clinic
Children of Uganda (UK) is delighted to let you know that work has started again on the building of our health clinic. Annette has had several onsite meetings and has supplied us with updated photos.
A road is under construction to link the clinic to the nearest access point. Travel permitting, Chairman John Faith and Trustee Jon Exton are hoping to be at the official opening towards the end of the year.
We urgently seek more funds…
The building is fully funded, but we still need to raise further funds and donations to complete the fitout of our clinic and to help with the initial staffing & other expenses.
Once operational this health centre will make such a difference to the lives of the villagers and children.
There are no surgeries or health centres in Butansi and its surrounding villages. Therefore, villagers do not seek attention until they, or their children are very ill, when it can be a 2 hour+ walk to the nearest hospital!

Fred gets a new motorcycle
It is now 10 years since Fred got his first motorcycle from us, so that he could start up in the boda boda business. Now… 10 years later it needed to be replaced. He needs his boda boda to earn a decent living and to pay the school fees or his 3 children. He also regularly assists BSUF. Therefore, Children of Uganda (UK) stepped in and provided the money for a new motorcycle.
In Fred’s own words; “I always pray to God to enable me to keep the trust and integrity with the Buyemba Suubira Uganda Foundation. If there was any other word to mean thank you, I would have used it, but there is no other” God Bless you Children of Uganda (UK).”
We wish Fred every success with the help of his new vehicle.
