Ad Hoc Projects

We hold our first mobile medical Clinic in 2016

There is only hospital in the Kamuli which is up to a 2 hour walk for villagers and you have to pay. Therefore many parents do not seek medical help when their children are initially unwell.

Two of the children at Butansi Nursery School were always ill and when they were accompanied home one day, it was discovered that both their parents had HIV Aids – and so did the children! The children were not on medication until we intervened.

Annette then became concerned that many of the other kiddies at the school seemed unwell so BSUF arranged and paid for a team of medical professionals to visit the school and run a proper health check on the children.

AD HOC

80% had malaria!

The children were also found to be suffering from mumps, nasty skin infections and other ailments. They were immunised, treated on the spot and given the necessary medicines.

Our first health outreach was a great success and a breakthrough in a long awaited local healthcare programme in the area.

This is why BSUF and Children of Uganda (UK) were determined to provide regular healthcare… and so our key project began – to provide a clinic and a community centre for the villagers and children of Butansi.
