news update January 2020

CHAIRMAN’S UPDATE

2019 was frustrating, as work on building our clinic had been slow and we had to replace our builder! I can now report that the project is back on track and the building will soon be completed. We are looking forward to our next visit, to Uganda for the Grand Opening.

Our sponsored students are just starting a new year of schooling and we have some exciting news about two of our older students.

May I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and to wish you a very happy, healthy & successful 2020.

– JOHN FAITH –

Our new Clinic will open this year

The building is progressing, now under the expert care of Vianney Tumwesige & his company Green Heat. We have known him for many years, in Butansi & when he was in the UK. The clinic is due to be completed later this year and will make such a difference to the health & welfare of the community in the Butansi area, currently without such a necessary service.
Our thanks again to the Theatre Make A Difference Trust for their generous support

An opportunity for our Clinic

Poole Hospital sends out nurses to volunteer at a new hospital in Lira, N. Uganda, to train local nurses there. Trustee Jon Exton & Dawn Perry supported their recent fundraising event at the RMYC. It is hoped that a similar scheme can be setup with Poole Hospital and Poole Africa Link, for our clinic next year.

BSUF plays Santa

In December Annette Mbedha took the initiative to take some gifts to the inmates at Kamuli Prison, which was greatly appreciated.
