The Clinic will provide ongoing healthcare for the community, which they currently do not have.
When children get sick the parent(s) or guardian tend to do little about it – until they get really ill and then it’s up to a 2 hour walk to the nearest hospital!
Annette has in the past organised a number of ‘pop up clinics’ run by medical volunteers. Many of the children were then found to be ill and were all treated on the spot and immunised where necessary.
This led us to realise the importance of providing ongoing preventative healthcare for the children and villagers, in the form of a medical facility.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Theatre Make a Difference Trust [see below], we have been able to start to build our clinic. However, we need further funds to complete it for opening.
